Basically ‘Sprite Effects’ allow artists to add filters
(including 3rd party filters) and effects
to vector graphic elements. This means you can add motion
blur or distortion effects to any vector graphic and
still have the option to edit the original graphic’s
shape, size, color, etc. These filters and effects can
be edited and moved around in the layer palette creating
more complex graphics. The downside of using this technology
is longer document loads and slower redraws. Although
Canvas will run on any Pentium processor I recommend
a Pentium III 500mhz or better, with plenty of ram (128
or more).

One of the most powerful additions is the ‘Reshape’ tool.
This incredible tool allows artist to reshape a vector
graphic by simply drawing a new path over the part you
wish to add or subtract.

The ‘Push’ tool is an editable tool to push or pull
bezier curves without having to play with the bezier
points or handles. Try doing that in Illustrator.
