Page Layout Power
Most designers today do more than build Web sites. They are also responsible
for creating print brochures, ads, business cards, etc. Canvas 7 builds on
the existing page layout strengths from previous releases.
One of the major strengths of Canvas is its type manipulation
capability. Most of these are familiar to users of Adobe
Pagemaker. You can place text along any vector path or
shape, control it’s strokes and fills, place it in multiple
columns or wrap it inside unusual shapes. You also have
control over kerning, leading, and styles.

There are also spell checking (including auto correcting),
text searching and replacing, and tab controls. Designers
can also apply effects to text such as envelope, extrude,
rotate, skew, shadows and more.

Adding effects to text is easy

Adding clipping paths to text and graphics is equally
fast and painless in Canvas 7. Select the text and graphic
and click - make clipping path.

Designers can also create master pages or templates
that can be used for brochures and reports. The use of
image proxies are an efficient way of conserving time
and system memory. A proxy is an image placeholder or
low resolution graphic that is linked to the high-resolution
file stored in a Canvas Image File on disk.
