Canvas Spins a Web
Canvas 7 is Deneba’s first real response to meet the needs of Web designers.
Canvas can now create and save Web ready graphics, build .GIF banner animations
and create rollover buttons. Although it has the ability to save documents
in .html format and even upload pages via an integrated ftp program, it is
not yet ready to challenge the likes of Dreamweaver or FrontPage. That will
have to wait for release 8 or 9.
Canvas Gets Graphic
Canvas 7 has an excellent capability to save graphics in .gif, .jpg and .png
formats. The interface is very similar to Image Ready or Fireworks. You can
have 4 panes displaying the same image. You can then select different optimization
settings, view the resulting images, then save the one you want.

Canvas Gets Animated
Creating animated banners is now possible in Canvas. You animate objects using
the 'Document Layout' where you can designate frames and manipulate objects
accordingly. Activating 'Onion Skinning' allows you to track multiple frames
at a time. This is an adequate tool for creating simple banner ads.
