As you can see there are no extensions currently available.
I then Go - File - Go to Macromedia Exchange. This
opens my browser to the Macromedia Exchange page. Here
you can search for Dreamweaver extensions in 13 categories.
Each listed extension has a title, description, the
name of the programmer, a rating (5 out of 5 being
best) and a release date. I chose - 'Modify Page Title'
extension.

I downloaded the file, saving it to my 'Downloaded
Extensions' folder in Dreamweaver 3. To install the
extension - Go - Commands - Manage Extensions. Now
select the extension. A description of the extension
and its limitations appear in the bottom panel. To
use the extension you must now restart Dreamweaver.

Once restarted go to your 'site window', right click
an .htm file and select 'Modify Page Title.'

The 'Modify Page Title' window appears. Rename the
chosen file and click 'Done.' This simple file extension
saved me the trouble of opening every .htm file and
changing the title.

Creating Your Own Extensions
Currently, Dreamweaver is the only web development program that is totally
open to outside developers. To customize Dreamweaver you must be well
versed in JavaScript and XML. Fortunately Dreamweaver has an Extensibility
Newsgroup that is open to developers. The newsgroup is technical in nature
and really not suited to non-programmers. There is also an article database
in the 'extensibility section' of the Dreamweaver Support center. If
you are like me and have enough trouble programming my multiple remote
controls get in contact with one of the independent extension developers
and tell them your idea for an extension. They might be interested. I
visit the Macromedia Exchange frequently to see what new extensions are
available. Its kind of like a toy store for web designers. In fact, our
iBoost site uses Atomz.com's search engine extension.
