Wanting to give Hole 1 a slicker look I decided
to add a texture to my fairway. I created one in Photoshop.
It's a simple two-tone green pattern saved as a .gif file.

To assign the texture I select the fairway object
and then go - File - Place as Texture. I then placed my hole
against a black background and added a red frame.
The last part of my design is adding some basic
yardage markers, a title a cart path and a small bridge. I
base these on the info in the yardage guide. As you can see
the resulting timeline structure is quite long.

There are too many objects in this time line
|
The best way to streamline this structure is
to group objects. For example the three water hazards were
grouped (Ctrl -G) into one. Once the three objects have been
grouped - press ENTER - and name it - 'Water Hazards'. I then
grouped the other objects. Here is my new timeline.

Group objects to reduce timeline clutter

Now if you wish you could group all the groups
into one large group - Hole 1 Ruffled Feathers. By clicking
the arrow marker to the left of the name you will expand the
group hierarchy.
Here is the final design for Hole 1:
