Quick Mask - Part 1
The first step was to select the 'Magic Wand Tool' and reduce the tolerance
to around 20 (32 is the default). The lower the setting the tighter the tolerance,
meaning the range of colors selected is reduced. Holding down the shift key
I can add to the rough mask until I've created a good start. Holding down
the 'Alt' key allows you to remove pixels from the mask. As you can see I've
missed areas around the clumps of hair near the ear and the top.

Quick mask - Part 2
Now select the 'Quick Mask' mode button in the toolbar. You can also access
the 'Quick Mask' by pressing the 'Q' key.
The woman is now covered by a red mask. Now comes
the tedious part. Because of the color complexity of the image
we will have to go in and add/subtract from this rough mask
